We are seeking an Associate Immigration Lawyer to join our team of dynamic, diverse and experienced immigration professionals. This Associate will be responsible for managing client relationships across a broad scope of immigration files in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The ability to work within a team, manage one’s time effectively, balance competing priorities, and maintain a continuous focus on client service and business development are key to one’s success in this role. This role is well suited to a lawyer who brings strong immigration law experience, sound judgment, a client-first approach, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced legal environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) Degree is required
  • Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
  • Three years previous experience practicing Immigration Law is required
  • Strong drafting, research, communication, organization, and client-service skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Comfortable managing competing priorities, deadlines, working independently, and collaborating within a larger team
  • Works well under pressure and demonstrates a sense of urgency to get things done quickly

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with IRCC portals, case management systems, e-filing, legal practice software is an asset
  • Proficiency in French is an asset; additional language skills are valued

Responsibilities

  • Manage a variety of Canadian immigration files, including work permits (LMIA and LMIA-exempt applications), study permits, visitor visas, permanent residence, citizenship, inadmissibility matters, and related applications
  • Work directly with clients from intake through file completion, providing clear advice, updates, and guidance throughout the process
  • Draft strong legal submissions, correspondence, supporting letters, and application materials
  • Conduct legal research and stay current on immigration law, policy, procedures, and regulatory changes
  • Collaborate with Partners, lawyers, Administrative staff, and external resources on complex and cross-border matters
  • Provide day-to-day direction and oversight to law clerks and legal assistants, including delegating tasks, reviewing work product, and supporting the development of support staff within the team
  • Contribute to firm initiatives, team meetings, and ongoing professional development
