About The Position

The Associate Lab Technician uses formal technical training, education, scientific principles, and hands-on experience to collect data and follow simple, standardized procedures. The role applies problem-solving capabilities to ensure the quality and validity of produced data. It includes limited troubleshooting of processes and equipment, limited analytical work, and assistance with developing and optimizing procedures and standard workflows. The position is onsite at Trail Street in Jackson, Michigan; the selected candidate must live within commuting distance or be willing to relocate. The position is not eligible for current or future immigration sponsorship, including H-1B or TN sponsorship, and is not eligible for CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT participation.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to timely report examination data.
Professional customer interface skills.
Ability to work independently, stay self-motivated, and sustain high productivity.
Knowledge of process and procedure development and optimization.
Agility and flexibility to respond to varying department needs.
Ability to maintain performance and composure during audits and technical certification testing.
Problem-solving skills related to processes, equipment, and specific technical methods.

Responsibilities

Own work schedules to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly productivity goals.
Assist with process and procedure development, interpretation of industry codes, and their application.
Provide limited direct customer interface on technician-operated projects.
Follow basic standard procedures to produce repeatable data for customer submission or further analytical work.
Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.
Timely report examination data.
Troubleshoot processes, equipment, and specific technical methods within the scope of the role.
