BII provides a platform for BlackRock’s portfolio managers to debate timely topics affecting markets – and disseminates actionable conclusions through internal summaries and client publications. This nimble, global team has outsized impact on BlackRock’s performance, commercial success and brand. This is a role for someone passionate about financial markets who enjoys turning views, data and facts into concise and engaging publications, and is ready to learn something new every day and leverage LLMs to help reshape our workflow. We are looking for an ace financial writer and storyteller to join our publishing team in New York to produce high-quality thought leadership across media platforms.

Requirements

Superb writing, editing and storytelling abilities
Knowledge of and passion for economics and global financial markets
A self-starter with loads of creativity, team spirit, versatility and persistence
Ability to work very quickly, deliver on or before deadline and go the extra mile
Work experience of at least 5 years, with a preference for real-time financial journalism. We will consider candidates with more experience.
Intense attention to accuracy, detail and consistency
Intellectual curiosity
Adept at working with AI tools, data mining and using Excel to create graphics

Responsibilities

Being a lead writer of BII’s Global Weekly Commentary
Collaborating with BII’s investment strategy, macro and portfolio construction teams to create content
Harnessing AI to improve transform editorial and production processes while maintaining writing quality and accuracy
Partnering with Digital Marketing to produce social and digital content to magnify BII’s impact.
Working with compliance and public policy teams to produce BII publications
Collaborating with Marketing and Communications teams to further BlackRock’s thought leadership
Interacting with senior BlackRock portfolio managers to summarize views and put together investment insights
