About The Position

This Associate Internal Sales role within Intermediary Distribution, Global Asset Management, focuses on driving sales results for designated mutual fund/ETF products through non-affiliated or third-party Advisory intermediaries and within BMO Advisory channels. The role prioritizes investment advisors and supports their wholesaler in achieving sales targets across their region. It involves building relationships with investment advisors, prospects, and internal stakeholders to propose solutions and make recommendations based on their needs and market opportunities. The position requires close collaboration with a partnered wholesaler, maintaining consistent and clear communication, and developing and executing a business plan with sales strategies to meet objectives and acquire new investment advisors. Participation in industry and intermediary events is expected to enhance market presence. The role also involves organizing conference calls and presentations, often with portfolio managers, to promote new strategies, and partnering with team members for strategic region management and opportunity capitalization. A proactive approach to identifying new investment advisors and converting prospects is essential, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and take initiative on ad hoc tasks. Effective and timely use of Salesforce/customer relationship management systems, adherence to compliance and regulatory guidelines, creative problem-solving, and independent work are also key aspects of this role. A hybrid work arrangement is expected, with a minimum of 4 days in the office.

Requirements

  • Completed Canadian Securities Course, CIM or IQPF certifications are strong assets
  • Basic understanding of intermediary Advisory sales and the Investment market.
  • Ability to proactively conduct effective sales conversations on investment strategies and solutions over the phone with investment advisors.
