About The Position

This role is for an Associate in Internal Sales within Intermediary Distribution for Global Asset Management. The Associate is responsible for driving sales results for designated mutual fund/ETF products through non-affiliated or third-party Advisory intermediaries and within BMO Advisory channels. The position focuses on putting investment advisors first, supporting their wholesaler in driving sales results across their region, and working with investment advisors, prospects, and internal stakeholders to build relationships and drive results. The Associate proposes solutions to investment advisors and makes recommendations based on an understanding of their needs and market opportunities. The role involves working mostly independently, managing multiple priorities, and adhering to all compliance, regulatory, and legal guidelines. A hybrid work arrangement is expected, with a minimum of 4 days in the office.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience speaking to macro economic conditions, financial markets and various investment vehicles.
  • Basic understanding of intermediary Advisory sales and the Investment market.
  • Ability to proactively conduct effective sales conversations on investment strategies and solutions over the phone with investment advisors.
  • In-depth verbal & written communication skills.
  • In-depth collaboration & team skills.
  • In-depth influence skills.
  • Fluency in French and English as this role provides support to clients and team members inside and/or outside the province of Quebec.

  • Completed Canadian Securities Course, CIM or IQPF certifications are strong assets

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales results for designated mutual fund/ETF products through non-affiliated or third-party Advisory intermediaries and within BMO Advisory channels.
  • Put investment advisors first and support their wholesaler in driving sales results across their region.
  • Work with investment advisors, prospects, and internal stakeholders to build relationships and drive results.
  • Propose solutions to investment advisors and make recommendations based on an understanding of their needs and market opportunities.
  • Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with partnered wholesaler, maintaining consistent and clear communication at all times.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute a business plan, including sales strategies, to achieve sales objectives and acquire new investment advisors.
  • Participate in industry and intermediary events to grow presence in the marketplace.
  • Organize and arrange regular conference calls and presentations, conducted either independently or in conjunction with portfolio managers to promote new strategies.
  • Partner with team members to encourage strategic region management and capitalize on new opportunities.
  • Proactively find new ways to identify new investment advisors and convert prospects into new relationships.
  • Manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Take initiative when handling ad hoc tasks for investment advisors.
  • Demonstrate effective and timely use of the Salesforce/customer relationship management systems.
  • Adhere to all compliance, regulatory, and legal guidelines.
  • Think creatively and propose new solutions.
  • Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
