About The Position

The Wonderful Company is seeking an Associate, Internal Communications to join their Corporate Communications team. This role is crucial for supporting high-visibility projects, developing expertise in strategic communication, fostering employee engagement, and ensuring organizational alignment. The Associate will craft compelling content, manage internal communications platforms, support reputational efforts for the company and its founders, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful messaging. This is a fast-paced, dynamic role with broad, senior-level visibility, reporting to the Director, Internal Communications. The position is based in West Los Angeles, CA, with a hybrid work schedule (in-office Monday-Wednesday, remote Thursday-Friday).

Requirements

  • At least 3-4 years of hands-on experience in an agency or corporate environment supporting strategic organizational communications, change management, culture, employee engagement, internal communications, public relations, or executive communications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, or a related business field.
  • Fluency in Microsoft 365, Adobe suite, and Canva.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to proactively complete tasks and meet goals in partnership with others and under minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency in all communications.
  • Strong writer who identifies and develops compelling stories that support organizational goals and business initiatives.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, adapt to change, be open to new ideas, take on new responsibilities, and embrace a growth mindset.
  • Ability to anticipate potential issues and propose creative, effective solutions.
  • Eagerness to strengthen and refine writing, research, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to use discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Curiosity, motivation, and superior listening/comprehension skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with AP style.
  • Familiarity with leading internal communications tools (i.e., Cerkl, Staffbase, and SharePoint).
  • Ability to create engaging PowerPoint presentations.
  • Familiarity working with digital files and assets (i.e., image resizing, cropping, etc.).
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish.
  • Demonstrates understanding of and a strong interest in learning about agriculture, real estate, and consumer packaged goods (CPG).

Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, and proofread employee communications, including internal emails, newsletter articles, talking points, FAQs, and intranet articles.
  • Provide project management support for enterprise-wide corporate initiatives and special projects, such as new intranet platform rollouts and awards/rankings efforts.
  • Support internal stakeholders with corporate communications initiatives across various departments (IT, AI/Automation, Facilities, Research & Insights, Sales, Continuous Improvement, EHS, Aviation, etc.).
  • Oversee the master communications calendar across multiple channels and stakeholders.
  • Manage the enterprise-wide email platform (Cerkl), including training, troubleshooting, and liaising with platform partners and the Wonderful Agency for branded communication templates.
  • Monitor secondary mailboxes and route inquiries to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Coordinate seasonal events to enhance workplace culture and employee engagement.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and awards/rankings opportunities.
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, creating agendas, distributing meeting recaps, supporting event coordination, and preparing presentations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, events, research, talent acquisition, philanthropy, proofreading, legal teams, and others to ensure communications align with the company's mission and values.
