About The Position

Ares Infrastructure Equity (AIE) is hiring an Asset Management Associate to support its Investment Team in New York, NY. AIE focuses on equity-oriented infrastructure investments, including renewable energy, energy storage, natural gas, transportation, resource efficiency, low carbon molecules, infrastructure services, and digital infrastructure. They manage approximately $8.5 billion across two strategies and three main funds, leveraging technical and financial expertise, and industry relationships to source deals, manage risk, and achieve attractive returns. The AIE team consists of about 30 investment professionals with deep sector knowledge and strong industry connections.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or international equivalent, along with relevant work experience.
2-3 years of finance or accounting experience.
Exposure to valuation methods.
Exposure to power, energy, or infrastructure experience.
Strong finance and analytical abilities.
Strong financial modeling capabilities (in Excel).
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

Portfolio management of investments made by Ares Core Infrastructure Fund (ACI), a perpetual, open-ended, core infrastructure fund.
Financial Planning and Analytics (FP&A) initiatives including monthly valuation analysis and reporting.
Tracking financial and operational investment performance.
Preparing financial and operational reporting.
Monitoring contract compliance and counterparty reporting.
Fund-level modeling analysis.
Presenting analyses to internal and external stakeholders.
Directly supporting the Investment Team on existing and new investments.
Producing detailed Net Asset Value (NAV) analysis on a monthly basis and NAV forecasts.
Monitoring, reporting, and analyzing operational and financial performance of projects and investments versus budget.
Interfacing with portfolio investment counterparties, financing counterparties, and other external partners.
Monitoring contract compliance including preparation of key metrics such as Debt Service Coverage Ratios.
Fund-level financial modeling, updating investment projections to match realized and revised projected performance, and other quantitative analysis.
Preparation and presentation of analyses and reporting materials to internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborating closely with the Investment team, FP&A team and other internal stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with financial regulations.
