This role is for a temporary Distribution Associate II, an advanced position within the Distribution Center. The associate will be responsible for various functions including inbound receiving, inventory control, production support, stocking, cycle counting, packing, and shipping of materials and finished goods. A key aspect of the role is maintaining a clean and safe warehouse environment, fostering a safety-oriented culture, and contributing to continuous improvement processes through recommendations and participation in approved projects.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years prior distribution or warehouse experience including barcode scanners, printers, etc.
  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Experience in forklift operation.
  • Perform accountabilities and tasks of the function within established productivity requirements.
  • Satisfaction of credentialing requirements of Sysmex’s customers, including hospitals and other healthcare facilities, which generally includes proof of current vaccinations for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), and COVID-19.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload inbound and outbound trailers, trucks, and vans, ensuring safety devices are utilized and distribution center procedures are followed.
  • Verify receipts against delivery manifests and/or purchase orders, and maintain familiarity with receiving forms and maintenance records.
  • Operate computer terminals in an automatic receiving and shipping environment.
  • Stock merchandise in proper locations according to standard company practice.
  • Operate various types of manual or powered hand trucks and industrial lift trucks to move merchandise.
  • Fill customer orders from computer-generated picking documents.
  • Pack a variety of products in standard containers and assemble orders for pickup or loading onto delivery trucks.
  • Prepare items according to customer packaging, labeling, and shipping requirements.
  • Operate material handling equipment including vertical balers, pallet jacks, two-wheel carts, barcode scanners, conveyors, air machines, sealed air systems, and shipping manifest systems.
  • Monitor warehouse inventory levels and replenish inventory into warehouse racking.
  • Assist the warehouse team with assigned tasks, potentially working at or rotating to multiple stations, work centers, or departments based on business needs.
  • Master all functions of a Level 2 associate before being eligible for Level 3.
  • Be certified on all material handling equipment, barcode scanners, printers, etc.
  • Interface with Sysmex internal and external customers on continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend and develop ideas for improvement in operating methods and procedures to resolve problems.
  • Make recommendations for improved layout, workflow, operating costs, and customer service.
  • Multi-task proactively and re-prioritize daily to accommodate changing business requirements.
  • Follow guidelines and directions set by the Distribution Management Team.
  • Participate in all continuous improvement projects and cost-saving measures.
  • Follow distribution procedures in accordance with cGXP, FDA, OSHA, IATA, DOT, TSA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Maintain product documentation, quality standards, specifications, SOPs, and GMPs.
  • Assist the distribution team in keeping the department audit-ready at all times.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of personal time records and contribute to reducing expenses.
  • Follow all safety standards and training in the department.
  • Ensure the building is maintained in a clean and safe manner.
  • Protect inventories and equipment against theft, fire, and other hazards.
  • Maintain housekeeping duties and designated aisles.
  • Demonstrate good customer service to all departments through timely movement of goods.
  • Follow up on issues and concerns of internal and external customers.
  • Promote a customer-centric environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
