About The Position

This is an entry-level position responsible for assisting in daily activities within the Distribution Center. The role involves inbound (receiving), inventory control, production support, put away, storing, cycle counting, packing, and shipping of materials and/or finished goods. The associate will ensure warehouse cleanliness, maintain a safety-oriented culture, and contribute to continuous improvement processes. Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED degree preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years prior distribution or warehouse experience including barcode scanners, printers, etc.
  • Ability to read, speak, and comprehend in English simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Satisfaction of credentialing requirements of Sysmex’s customers, including hospitals and other healthcare facilities, which generally includes proof of current vaccinations for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), and COVID-19.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload all inbound and outbound trailers, trucks, and vans, ensuring safety devices are utilized and distribution center procedures are followed.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Consolidate product to optimize warehouse space.
  • Monitor warehouse inventory levels and replenish inventory into warehouse racking.
  • Assist the warehouse team in meeting productivity requirements with assigned tasks.
  • Prepare items according to customer packaging, labeling, and shipping requirements, including picking and packing items for orders.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as vertical baler, pallet jack, two-wheel cart, bar code scanners, conveyor, air machine, sealed air, and shipping manifest systems (excluding industrial lift trucks until certified).
  • Follow guidelines and directions from the Distribution Management Team and perform other assigned duties.
  • Interface with Sysmex internal and external customers on continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Learn the roles and responsibilities of Distribution Associate Level 2.
  • Multi-task proactively and re-prioritize daily to accommodate changing business requirements.
  • Participate in all continuous improvement projects and cost-saving measures.
  • Follow distribution procedures in accordance with cGXP, FDA, OSHA, IATA, DOT, TSA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Assist the distribution team in keeping the department audit-ready at all times.
  • Maintain responsibility for the quality and integrity of personal time records and contribute to reducing expenses.
  • Follow all safety standards and training in the department.
  • Ensure the building is maintained in a clean and safe manner.
  • Protect inventories and equipment against theft, fire, and other hazards.
  • Maintain housekeeping duties and designated aisles.
  • Demonstrate good customer service to all departments through timely movement of goods.
  • Contribute to good customer service through follow-up of issues and concerns of internal and external customers.
  • Promote a customer-centric environment.
