About The Position

Bain Capital’s global Research & Market Data Services (RDS) team is seeking a Research Associate with a healthcare focus. The role provides global industry, economic, and demographic research and information services to deal teams and investment professionals across Bain Capital. The associate will manage multiple research projects in a fast-paced setting, including loosely defined projects that may require bespoke solutions. The work involves filtering, synthesizing, and conceptualizing data to deliver innovative outcomes, with a strong emphasis on sourcing research and data from third-party providers to support due diligence on potential investments.

The successful candidate will be a flexible, creative thinker who is comfortable developing AI skills and solutions. They will deliver comprehensive, synthesized research support; collaborate with investment professionals and RDS colleagues to anticipate information needs; stay current on industry drivers and trends; and identify, evaluate, and develop partnerships with third-party research sources. The associate will also represent the RDS team in initiatives to enhance information services and team capabilities.

The position offers an expected annual base salary of $75,000–$82,000. Actual base salary depends on factors including role, function, level, experience, qualifications, and geographic location. The position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on factors such as individual impact and team and firm performance. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• A minimum of 2–5 years of experience in financial services, consulting, or another fast-paced corporate research environment.
• Experience in the healthcare sector.
• Strong research expertise.
• Competence, flexibility, and creativity in conducting complex research inquiries.
• Familiarity with secondary research tools such as Factiva, AlphaSense, S&P Capital IQ, PitchBook, IQVIA, and other healthcare-specific services.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Self-motivation and a proven ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
• Strong service orientation and the ability to problem-solve and improve processes independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and follow through in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal business partners.
• Experience working with AI in research processes across platforms including Claude or ChatGPT.
• Eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, synthesized research support to global deal staff and investment professionals in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Collaborate proactively with investment professionals and RDS team members to anticipate ongoing information needs and identify research collaboration opportunities.
• Stay current on relevant industry drivers and trends.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop partnerships with key third-party sources to support research for potential and existing investments.
• Represent the RDS team in initiatives aimed at enhancing information services and team core competencies.
• Source third-party research and data to support due diligence on potential investments.
• Manage multiple research projects, including projects that may be loosely defined or require bespoke solutions.
• Filter, synthesize, and conceptualize data to deliver innovative outcomes.
