About The Position

Xcel Energy is seeking an Associate, Gas Operations to provide moderately complex technical and administrative support. This role will proactively support managers, coordinators, designers, planners, technicians, associates, and other personnel in the development and execution of technical and administrative tasks. The position involves being the first point of contact for customers regarding various departments, possessing general knowledge of distribution, gas and electric emergency work, street lighting, and engineering. Key responsibilities include compiling, computing, and verifying information with a high degree of accuracy, resolving complex issues related to contractor field and invoicing performance, and auditing/reconciling gas and electric facility information. The role also entails establishing gas and electric accounts for various customer types to ensure billing accuracy and revenue collection, and coordinating with outside companies to ensure utility work proceeds as scheduled.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent

  • Experience with UKG, SAP, Microsoft Word, & Excel Spreadsheet preferred
  • Organizational skills preferred
  • Experience with accounts payable, timekeeping, & expense reconciliation

Responsibilities

  • Provide moderately complex technical and administrative support.
  • Proactively support managers, coordinators, designers, planners, technicians, associates and other personnel in the development and execution of technical and administrative tasks.
  • Serve as first contact with customers as related to various departments.
  • Compile, compute and verify information with a very high degree of accuracy for various departments.
  • Access and effectively resolve complex issues related to contractor field and invoicing performance.
  • Audit and reconcile gas and electric facility info for contractor and company crews.
  • Establish gas and electric (metered and non-metered) accounts for residential, commercial, industrial and municipal customers to ensure billing accuracy and collection of company revenue.
  • Request, schedule and coordinate with various outside companies to ensure utility work is able to proceed as scheduled.
  • Provide phone answering support to help screen and route calls.
  • Manage office supply ordering and stocking.
  • Sort and deliver internal and external mail.
  • Schedule and delegate work.
  • Dispatch/assign work.
