About The Position

As an Associate Field Service Engineer, you will provide basic engineering field service support during installation, repair, or general maintenance of I&C equipment. You will utilize various project disciplines including engineering, field services, software, innovation/product development, and process improvement. All project management is performed in accordance with the established Westinghouse policies, procedures, systems, and requirements. You will begin fundamental training in Westinghouse I&C platforms to eventually develop into a service lead or supervisor. You will report to the Manager of I&C field services and be located at our New Stanton facility. This is a hybrid position that requires 2 days in office per week. This role requires up to 40% travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience. Applicable disciplines are project management, engineering, business, construction management or related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability or understanding of the transformation of data to information for visual reports; database concepts in order to manage data within systems; the interaction of company functions that are touch points to projects (Finance, Legal, Quality, Supply Chain, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Aid project managers in the planning of field service projects to gain knowledge of Westinghouse processes.
  • Aid project managers in the execution, monitoring, and controlling of field service projects to gain knowledge of Westinghouse processes.
  • Participate in field service projects as a supervisor or individual contributor.
  • Aid project managers in the financial and technical close out of projects.
  • Begin training in one or more Instrumentation and Control Systems supported by the group.
  • Participate in system and field leadership training.
  • Assist in preparing and delivering project specific training for crews.
  • Supervise assigned projects and small teams with predetermined goals.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with team, customers, and other stakeholders (e.g. internal management) to facilitate successful project completion and identify opportunities for additional business growth.
  • Provide direct oversight of Westinghouse employees and subcontractors while executing work.
  • Ensure the flawless execution of field projects from planning through closing and identify areas of improvement.
  • Identify problems with equipment and systems per procedure. Recommend potential solutions for implementation.
  • Make simple decisions daily and seek guidance from mentors regarding complex problems.
  • Mentor others at an equal level of position. Direct and coach less experienced personnel.
