We are seeking a Field Network and Strategic Communications Associate to join our team in Washington, DC. This hybrid position will spend the majority of their time supporting our national network of field consultants to service client accounts, manage consultant relationships, and assist with business development efforts, while also contributing to strategic communications account work.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Political Science, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of professional experience in field organizing, grassroots campaigns, political operations, communications, or a related area, ideally in a campaign, advocacy, or political setting. Internship experience considered.
• Strong organizational skills and great attention to detail, especially when managing databases, trackers, and paperwork.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide network of consultants and subcontractors.
• Resourceful, proactive, and comfortable identifying and researching emerging issues across local, state, and federal levels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Creative, energetic, detail-oriented, and entrepreneurial.

Nice To Haves

• Interest and/or experience in strategic communications, content drafting, or client-facing account support is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Works with the consultant network to gather intel for current client accounts and monitor for issues
• Produces and maintains useful materials such as election guides, lobby directories, and political calendars as necessary
• Oversees consultants and works on the front lines interviewing, databasing, and reporting on accounts as applicable
• Provides day-to-day support for Field Network activities on designated client accounts, as necessary
• Schedules calls with new consultants, potential grasstops contractors, and others as necessary
• Works closely with the Operations team and the rest of the Field Network team to oversee administrative aspects of contractor onboarding and ensure contractors are observing appropriate processes.
• Works with the consultant network to identify emerging issues at the local, state, and federal levels, as well as important events that will be impactful at the state and federal levels (elections, legislative session beginnings/adjournments, etc.)
• Works with the rest of the Field Network Team to conduct issue research and translate intel into usable documents for business development and marketing purposes.
• Helps identify and recruit new consultants for the 50-state network
• Manage the day-to-day operational needs of client accounts, ensuring materials (e.g., agenda, notes, clips), timelines, and information (e.g., project trackers) are accurate and accessible.
• Support the execution of client projects and work streams, own defined deliverables from start to finish.
• Work effectively across internal teams and functions to move client work forward.
• Communicate clearly with peers, client leads, and small audiences, including through internal presentations.
• Share knowledge with the team and support the onboarding and development of newer staff or interns.
• Deliver assigned work on time and to a quality standard that requires minimal rework.
• Keep documents, trackers, and shared resources organized and current for team use.
• Understand how individual tasks connect to broader account and client goals.
• Produce first-draft content — presentations, emails, client materials, social content — that is largely error-free and requires limited revision.
• Apply feedback to improve future work products.
• Conduct research that informs client strategy and problem-solving; escalate issues to senior staff when necessary.
