Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
  • Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.
  • Three (3)+ years of experience in health or long-term care management.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in business administration or healthcare is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight and direction to ensure each resident receives quality nursing, medical, and psychological services to attain at maintain the highest possible mental and physical functional status.
  • Responds appropriately to resident issues and concerns in a timely manner and makes a written/oral report to leadership as necessary, indicating what actions were taken to resolve the issue/concern, as appropriate.
  • Maintains resident census/occupancy and payer mix (Medicare, Medicaid, Rehab, etc.) as set forth by executive leadership.
  • Represents the community in dealings with outside agencies, including governmental agencies and third-party payers, or provides an authorized representative of the community when unable to attend such meetings.
  • Serves as liaison to the medical, professional and other supervisory staff serving the community.
  • Conducts regular interdepartmental and departmental meetings to foster two-way communication between staff, departments, and residents.
  • Ensures the community complies with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Participates in community surveys (inspections) made by authorized agencies. Reviews and helps develop a plan of correction for deficiencies noted during surveys.
  • Develops and maintains written departmental policies and procedures that govern the community’s operation. Reviews the policies and procedures, at least annually, and makes changes as necessary to assure continued compliance with all current regulations. Is knowledgeable about, and provides feedback on, the organization’s corporate policies and procedures, as needed.
  • In partnership with Corporate Marketing, ensures that public information (marketing materials, resident handbooks, policy manuals, etc.) describing the services provided is accurate, fully descriptive and represents the community in a positive and professional manner.
  • Conducts rounding inspections of the community to ensure that established policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
  • Ensures an adequate number of appropriately trained professionals and auxiliary staff are on duty to meet the needs of the residents.
  • Makes written and/or oral reports and recommendations to leadership as necessary, concerning the operations of the facility.
  • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and prepares, and adheres to, budgets that meet the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Performs supervisory functions by: Participating in the hiring, onboarding, and orientation process for new employees. Promptly and thoroughly addresses employee disciplinary action and terminations in coordination with human resources. Provides training, coaching, and supervision to employees. Provides timely and accurate performance management evaluations and participates in goal setting for the employee, in accordance with the organization's established policies and procedures. Prepares, implements, and monitors staffing schedules and work assignments. Administers department and organizational policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner. Completes payroll functions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Performs other duties as required or as directed by leadership.
