About The Position

MedVet is seeking a Hospitalist to join our Salt Lake City, UT hospital. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with strong communication skills and a proven ability to build relationships with colleagues, clients, and the referral community. Our hospital provides an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced ER veterinarians and specialists, supported by a highly skilled support team, while delivering exceptional patient care. MedVet Salt Lake City offers specialty services in Cardiology, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Radiology, and Surgery. We opened our beautiful, new 24,000-square-foot facility in 2020 and provide all the equipment and technology you need to give exceptional patient care. We added a Radiation Oncology department, including a Varian TrueBeam® linear accelerator. You'll also have support from our highly skilled team of veterinary professionals that includes some of the most talented, compassionate, and experienced doctors in Utah.

Responsibilities

• Seeing same-day transfers from referring partners.
• Overseeing inpatients across the hospital
• Updating clients and referral partners on patient status.
• Supporting the ER and surgery with procedures, patient recoveries, records and communication both to clients and referral partners if needed.
• Working with the hospital leadership team to improve workflow and standard operating procedures.
• Contributing to the ongoing training of clinical team members.
• Acting as a referral partner liaison to strengthen our relationships within the community
