About The Position

Boston College’s Women’s Center is seeking an experienced professional to serve as Associate Director, providing leadership for sexual violence prevention, education, advocacy, and confidential support services for students and members of the Boston College community. The Associate Director provides leadership and oversight for the Sexual Assault Network (SANet), including its 24/7 hotline and in-person CARE Team services. The position provides short-term, trauma-informed, confidential support to students and others seeking assistance following sexual violence or intimate partner violence, including safety planning, options counseling, advocacy, resource navigation, referrals, and appropriate follow-up. The Associate Director also supervises SANet graduate assistants, undergraduate student workers, and volunteer advocates and is responsible for the ongoing development, training, and evaluation of SANet services. The Associate Director develops and implements evidence-informed prevention and education initiatives addressing sexual violence, consent, healthy relationships, bystander intervention, and related topics. The position provides education and training to a variety of campus populations, including student-athletes, student leaders, and residential life staff and student leaders, and collaborates with campus partners to strengthen prevention, response, and referral practices. Working closely with University Counseling Services and other campus partners, the Associate Director helps develop and facilitate survivor-focused support groups and retreat experiences. The position also serves as a resource to faculty, staff, and campus partners regarding appropriate support, referral, and prevention practices related to sexual violence and intimate partner violence, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and clearly distinguishing confidential support services from Title IX, conduct, and other institutional processes. The Associate Director reports to the Director of the Women’s Center and works collaboratively with the Student Affairs Title IX Office and other University partners. The position requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to respond effectively and thoughtfully to sensitive and sometimes urgent situations. Each staff member in the Division of Student Affairs is expected to support division and university-wide initiatives, staff events, and serve on committees as needed.
