About The Position

This is an Internal Employment Opportunity. The Office of Undergraduate Education is seeking an Associate Director for Undergraduate Research & Experiential Learning. This is a part-time (0.75 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, student-centered leadership team and shape how undergraduate students connect their education to meaningful, hands-on experiences. The Associate Director will provide university-wide leadership for undergraduate research, creative activity, leadership development, and other high-impact practices that support student success, retention, and degree completion. Requirements

Master’s degree (in any field) and three years of progressively responsible full-time higher education work experience in the areas of experiential learning, undergraduate education, undergraduate student success, academic affairs, or a related higher education area; OR a Bachelor’s degree (in any field) plus five years of progressively responsible full-time higher education work experience in the areas of experiential learning, undergraduate education, undergraduate student success, academic affairs, or a related higher education area.
Demonstrated experience building collaborative relationships and working effectively with faculty, staff, students, and campus partners.
Demonstrated commitment to the value of undergraduate research and experiential learning to advance student success, retention, and degree completion.
Demonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing inclusivity in access to learning opportunities for students from varied backgrounds.
Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate in group settings and communicate inclusively with varied audiences.
Demonstrated effective organizational and project management skills, including but not limited to effective use of technology to advance projects.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

Responsibilities

Develop vision and strategy, through engagement with faculty, staff, units, committees, and OSU leadership, for the promotion, coordination, and strategic alignment of experiential learning efforts across the institution.
Provide leadership for experiential learning initiatives across the university, facilitating collaboration among colleges, academic programs, and university partners to support high-impact student engagement opportunities.
Actively recruit students to participate in undergraduate research and experiential learning opportunities that are traditionally underrepresented in research.
Provide focused leadership for undergraduate research and creative activity, including partnership development, program planning, student engagement, communications, coordination with relevant campus partners, and oversight of day-to-day operations.
Represent experiential learning initiatives in campus conversations, committees, and partnerships to advance shared goals and institutional priorities. Network and serve as liaison to academic units, academic faculty, and undergraduate education committees to advance undergraduate research and experiential learning across disciplines at OSU.
Provide support and continuing education opportunities to research faculty to advance undergraduate research and experiential learning at OSU.
Collaborate with prospective students and families, community colleges, OSU admissions/financial aid/scholarship colleagues, OSU academic and professional faculty, campus partners, community members, as well as alumni and industry supporters to increase engagement in undergraduate research and experiential learning opportunities.
