About The Position

The Associate Director, Strategic Pricing is a highly cross-functional role offering unparalleled exposure across the organization. In this position, you will serve as an advisor and thought partner to the Brand Access Strategy Teams, supporting brand pricing initiatives for the General Medicines business unit and helping shape List Price, Market Access, and Contracting Strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience (Consulting or equivalent experience also considered)
  • Basic knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system and reimbursement environment, market access customers and channels
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and executive presence
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and auditable accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and timelines
  • Advanced ability in using common analytical and communications tool i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Access
  • Ability to travel to key meetings and conventions and to meet with matrix partners in Cambridge MA or Bridgewater NJ as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA/MSA degree
  • Experience in a pricing capacity or relevant experience in Contract Development, Government Pricing & Operations, Channel Payer GTN Analysis, and Deal Negotiations
  • Understanding of contract modeling, data sources used in modeling, GTN projections process and implication on brand P&L
  • Understanding of drug pricing, including First Databank and / or Medispan data sources
  • Knowledge of and experience work with government pricing calculations AMP, Best Price and ASP pricing dynamics

Responsibilities

  • Supporting brand pricing initiatives for the General Medicines business unit, serving as an advisor and thought partner to the Brand Access Strategy Teams in developing List price, Market Access, and Contracting Strategies.
  • Collaborating closely with peers and U.S. and Global leaders from various departments, including Market Access, Pricing, Contract Operations, Contract Development, Account Management, Trade, Finance, Business Intelligence, Data Management, Forecasting, Business Insights, Market Access Shared Services, Government Affairs, Internal Auditing, Internal Controls, and Processes.
  • Providing stakeholders and senior management with relevant pricing and reimbursement information, support, and recommendations.
  • Partnering with US and Global Headquarters Access Strategy teams to help design U.S. specific pricing and market access strategies for inline products and those in development.
  • Assisting deal teams on Commercial, Government, Provider, and Institutional customer bids/offers ensuring alignment with brand strategy and profitability.
  • Designing and developing pricing models to evaluate the impact of pre- and post-launch strategies, including ASP, AMP, and Best Price.
  • Modeling the impact of life cycle pricing strategies and legislative measures on revenue.
  • Supporting Brand Financial / Gross to Net projections by providing insight into current market dynamics and future market events.
  • Assisting with the approval and execution of list price changes.
