The Addressable Activation department serve as KINESSO’s hands-on-keyboard platform experts, focusing on all aspects of successful campaign execution and stewardship. The Associate Director is accountable for the performance & pacing of all campaigns within their assigned brands and ensures that departmental standards & process are properly understood and implemented. They act as a point of escalation and are a source of advanced knowledge for complex setup, optimization, and platform nuances.

Requirements

  • Experience seeking and curating new business relationships and/or solutions; developing solutions using new or existing processes; and building team leadership qualities and soft skills needed to manage up/down/laterally (e.g., ability to navigate and be effective with multiple personalities)
  • Knowledge of technology or measurement ad tech solutions, including platforms
  • Examples include DV360, Adwords, The Trade Desk, Roku, Vistar, Facebook, Snapchat, etc.
  • Intermediate to strong data analysis skills
  • Ability to collaborate with partners/colleagues across functions and/or centers of excellence
  • Accountability for the performance, development, and results of a small client account or across multiple accounts; leads account decisions, budget spending, and staffing
  • Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or clients
  • A history of team management/mentorship and a comfort with internal/external-facing communication

  • Technical direction to the team is written, specific, and actionable — associates can execute without repeated clarification
  • Platform questions from team leads, direct reports or the client are answered with confidence and precision; escalate upward only when a question requires Director-level authority
  • Activation constraints or risks are surfaced to team leads proactively — before they become launch blockers or client-facing problems
  • Feedback on build quality or process compliance is delivered directly and constructively to the responsible team member; do not absorb or silently correct others’ errors
  • All activation-related communications — launch confirmations, QA outcomes, pacing flags, optimization changes — travel in shared team channels, not DMs
  • Process changes or new activation workflows are proposed in writing to team leads before rollout; existing standards are followed until changes are approved

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enforce activation standards for all media launches
  • Govern the QA process and guide team members through successful quality assurance
  • Oversee performance optimization and troubleshooting for legacy line items that are already live
  • Provide prescriptive oversight for campaign builds in DSP, with an emphasis on novel or complex builds
  • Help define and implement the DSP architecture for this client's campaigns and optimization thresholds and standards
  • Lead team analysis of feasibility and impact of incremental spending or budget changes
  • Provide technical input and team oversight for reach/frequency, bid strategy, and platform settings for active campaigns
  • Complete initial assessment of new capabilities being pitched by partners and gauge the feasibility and necessary timeline for any proposed test structures
  • Develop trainings and skills development for direct reports on activation team
  • Provide compliance and adoption oversight for the activation team to ensure implementation of best practices, documentation, tech, and tools
