About The Position

OMERS Private Equity (OPE) is seeking an Associate Director to join its Private Equity team in New York. OPE is a direct investor with a long-term view, managing $25.6 billion in assets under management and investing $3 billion annually. OPE is the private equity arm of OMERS, one of Canada's largest pension plans with $145.2 billion in assets across various investment classes. The team comprises professionals with backgrounds in private equity, investment banking, and consulting, focused on building long-term value in partnership with portfolio companies. This role involves identifying, evaluating, acquiring, and actively managing direct, control private equity investments within a team-based environment.

Requirements

  • Approximately 6 years of work experience in private equity, investment banking, or management consulting.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and timelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and both written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the research, analysis, and evaluation of new investment opportunities through industry research, competitor assessments, financial statement analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Lead commercial and operational due diligence workstreams.
  • Support the leadership team in strategic or operational projects.
  • Prepare internal investment presentations.
  • Oversee the work of Associates and participate in the recruitment of Associates.
  • Support transaction and Asset Management activities.
  • Lead performance monitoring and analysis, including reviewing quarterly reports.
  • Lead portfolio company key value creation plan initiatives.
  • Work alongside management to research and execute tuck-in acquisitions.
  • Support capital structure management, including debt refinancing, tax planning, and capital budgeting.
