About The Position

OMERS Private Equity (OPE) is seeking an Associate Director for its Private Equity team in New York. OPE is a direct investor with a long-term perspective, managing $25.6 billion in assets under management and investing $3 billion annually. OPE is the private equity arm of OMERS, one of Canada's largest pension plans with $145.2 billion in assets across various investment classes. The team comprises professionals with backgrounds in private equity, investment banking, and consulting, focused on building long-term value in partnership with portfolio companies. This role involves identifying, evaluating, acquiring, and actively managing direct, control private equity investments.

Requirements

  • Approximately 6 years of work experience in private equity, investment banking, or management consulting
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and timelines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and both written & verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and strong analytical skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead the research, analysis and evaluation new investment opportunities through industry research, competitor assessments, financial statement analysis and financial modeling
  • Lead commercial and operational due diligence workstreams
  • Support leadership team in a strategic or operational project
  • Prepare internal investment presentations
  • Oversee work of Associates and play a role in the recruitment of Associates
  • Supports transaction and Asset Management activities
  • Lead role in monitoring performance and analysis, review quarterlies
  • Lead portfolio company key value creation plan initiatives
  • Work alongside management to research and execute tuck-in acquisitions
  • Support capital structure management, including debt refinancing, tax planning and capital budgeting
