About The Position

Peachtree Road United Methodist Church (PRUMC) is seeking a full-time Associate Director of Youth Ministry to join their team. This role is for a large, active, and growing traditional church in Atlanta. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping students grow in their faith within the United Methodist tradition, be a self-starter, relational, and a team-player. The position involves working with students, parents, and volunteers, and requires experience in recruiting and leading volunteers, as well as planning and executing trips and events. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of youth ministry experience preferred.

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead PRUMC’s year-long Confirmation program for 6th graders.
  • Recruit, equip, and support an adult teaching team for the Confirmation program.
  • Coordinate curriculum, teaching schedule, and weekly logistics for Confirmation.
  • Plan and lead the annual Confirmation retreat and Confirmation Sunday service.
  • Lead the recruitment and development of adult volunteers (“shepherds”).
  • Invest in volunteers relationally and equip them for effective ministry with youth.
  • Recruit and mentor college students in the school-year internship program.
  • Assist the Director and grow the Youth Leadership Team.
  • Develop student leaders through training, mentorship, and leadership opportunities.
  • Serve as a primary leader for female students during local and global trips.
  • Provide relational support, guidance, and pastoral care to middle and high school girls.
  • Participate in planning and execution of trips and retreats.
  • Collaborate with youth ministry staff on weekly programming and special events.
  • Contribute to the overall vision and direction of the youth ministry.
  • Other duties as assigned.
