About The Position

Educational Alliance (EA) is seeking a full-time Associate Director of Workforce Development to support the Lower East Side Employment Network (LESEN). This role involves program administration, development, systems building, management, and data tracking to ensure effective collaboration among LESEN partners. The Associate Director will focus on creating sustainable systems to connect job seekers with training, support services, and employment opportunities, while also supporting MCC community programs and social services. LESEN is a collaboration of nine member agencies serving as Manhattan's Community District 3 local hiring vehicle, providing customized employment services for employers seeking entry- and mid-level staff in sectors like hospitality, retail, and healthcare.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Workforce Development, Education, Public Administration, Human Services, Business, or related field required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in workforce development, program management, partnership development, employer engagement, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing cross-sector partnerships.
  • Knowledge of workforce development systems and programming.
  • Experience with data management, performance tracking, and program evaluation.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, project management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Available some evenings and weekends for programming.
  • Ability to travel across LESEN partners for meetings, events, and collaboration.

  • Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate LESEN network efforts among training providers, employers, community-based organizations, educational institutions, and public agencies, streamlining communications, systems, and information sharing.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with LESEN member organizations, understanding their offerings.
  • Serve as MCC’s liaison to LESEN, sharing resources, aligning priorities, and facilitating connections and referrals.
  • Coordinate job fairs and recruitment events at MCC in partnership with LESEN.
  • Establish and maintain processes for referrals to client stipends, certification scholarships, and childcare resources.
  • Monitor referral effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve participant engagement and retention.
  • Oversee the implementation, improvement, and evaluation of the durable skills curriculum, and facilitate workshops as needed.
  • Ensure curriculum content reflects employer expectations and workforce trends.
  • Strengthen and maintain systems for data collection, tracking, analysis, and reporting to meet community needs and grant deliverables.
  • Use data to identify trends, drive continuous improvement, and support funding and partnership opportunities.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, grant implementation, and program expansion.
  • Represent LESEN and MCC at community meetings and partner convenings to share information and best practices.
  • Collaborate with leadership to strengthen the LESEN network and ensure clear communication channels.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
