About The Position

The Associate Director of Sports Performance will work with the Director of Sports Performance to assist with all aspects of the strength and conditioning programs for assigned sports. This position will assist with both the men's and women's basketball programs.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in related field
• 3 years of related experience at the intercollegiate level
• SCCC certification
• CSCS certification

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in division one athletics with both male and female sports
• Previous experience with GPS technology
• Master's degree in a sports performance or related field

Responsibilities

• Enables men and women student-athletes to perform to their physical potential in their sport through the development of strength, nutrition, and fitness training programs; develops programs by evaluating current physical conditioning, having a knowledge of the various sports and associated exercises, tailoring strength programs for specific needs, demonstrating proper performance of exercises, correcting mistakes; manages programs by monitoring progress and providing an assessment of development.
• Mitigate the likelihood of sports-related injuries or the aggravation of such injuries during practice sessions and scheduled contests by being knowledgeable of the injuries sustained in the sport and proper mitigation methods, directing appropriate pre-training session and pre-contest preparations and warmups, and working with qualified sports medicine personnel or athletic trainers during all training sessions and contests.
• Abides by and complies with NCAA and CAA rules, requirements, and policies of the University, and all guidelines and policies of the Athletics department and reports any concerns of compromise or violation of rules, standards, guidelines or policies to the Director of Athletics.
• Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
• The position requires working at all practices and events as assigned by the Assistant AD for Peak Performance, including some out-of-town events, which may occur at any time of day and on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Contributes to the overall success of the University's intercollegiate athletics program by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to, managing the day to day operations of volunteer/student workers.
