About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking an Associate Director of Nursing (ADON) for an exciting Travel or Local job in New York, NY. This role provides strategic, administrative, and clinical leadership across CPEP, inpatient, and outpatient behavioral health services. The ADON will ensure the implementation of trauma-informed care, de-escalation strategies, and therapeutic safety practices, while maintaining compliance with NYS OMH, Joint Commission, and CMS regulations. Responsibilities include supervising, mentoring, and evaluating psychiatric nursing staff, nurse managers, and educators, as well as optimizing staffing, resource allocation, and clinical workflows across units. The position also involves collaborating with psychiatry leadership, social work teams, and community partners for care coordination, and supporting emergency psychiatric operations and continuity of care across service lines.
Requirements
- Proven progressive nursing leadership experience (Director, ADON, or Senior Nurse Manager) in behavioral health
- Strong clinical expertise in psychiatric emergency (CPEP), inpatient, and outpatient mental health settings
- Active, unrestricted RN license in the State of New York
- BSN required
- Strong crisis intervention, leadership, and communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree (MSN, MHA, or MPA) preferred
- Financial and operational management experience preferred
