About The Position

The University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy is seeking an Associate Director of Marketing, Student Recruitment and Global Outreach. This role will strategize, create, and implement a cohesive marketing plan to support lead generation and overall student enrollment for Harris degree and non-degree programs. The Harris School focuses on developing effective public policy through rigorous inquiry, data, and measurable impact, addressing global challenges with innovative people and social science tools.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in a related field.
  • Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Strategize, create, and implement a cohesive marketing plan to support lead generation and overall student enrollment for Harris degree and non-degree programs.
  • Work collaboratively and as a project manager across marketing, recruitment, operations, and analytics teams, including campaign development and execution with the Harris Brand Marketing team.
  • Develop effective nurturing campaigns for different populations, with a keen understanding of awareness building at the top of the funnel for degree and/or non-degree/short-term programs.
  • Perform multi-channel marketing communications/advertising, web blogs, digital marketing, and market research.
  • Develop or review and update marketing infrastructure and manage external sales agency relationships.
  • Provide support for Marketing budget management, tracking payments, purchase orders, monitoring cost of external vendors and contract employers, and projecting future costs.
  • Monitor multiple deadlines daily to ensure projects are on schedule and expectations are aligned for a variety of print and digital projects, working with internal and external staff for design, writing, and copy editing.
  • Manage advertising campaigns in diverse channels including radio, print media, e-journalism, newsletters, etc.
  • Conduct research, analyze data, and monitor industry trends and best practices to implement, test, and refine strategies, with specific knowledge of competitor programs.
  • Keep abreast of trends in digital marketing, ensuring Harris is leveraging new and emerging channels to reach and engage prospective students.
  • Contribute to video and graphic design marketing products and work with 3rd party vendors in these spaces.
  • Develop and implement social media strategy to raise awareness of the Harris school and generate tangible leads through organic and paid campaigns.
  • Collaboratively develop recruitment event strategy to elevate the profile of the Harris School in key markets while driving enrollment.
  • Develop marketing communications, advertising, or publicity strategy.
  • Plan and coordinate the development and production of marketing campaigns, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Design, write, and edit high-profile marketing materials, which may include press releases, book jacket copy, blogs, or other web material.
  • May participate in developing new products and services, and determining new markets.
  • Act as a resource for and train lower-level marketing staff.
  • May attend trade shows as needed.
  • May assist in managing relationships with external sales agencies.
  • Perform other related work as needed.
