About The Position

The Associate Director of Enterprise Applications leads a high-performing team responsible for managing and evolving critical enterprise systems, including Oracle, ECC, and data warehouse solutions. This role is highly strategic, combining leadership, stakeholder engagement, and vendor management to ensure enterprise applications align with organizational goals and support long-term business objectives. Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Application Services, the Associate Director plays a key role in driving innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across enterprise business applications. The ideal candidate brings strong people leadership, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and an enterprise-wide perspective rather than deep technical specialization.

  • Vendor management experience, including contract review and relationship oversight.

  • Experience with grants, projects, HRMS, and financial-related Oracle EBS modules.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Broad enterprise application knowledge; deep technical expertise is not required.
  • Customer-focused, service-oriented approach with a collaborative communication style.
  • Ability to navigate complex organizational environments with diplomacy and influence.
  • Comfortable working in a balanced, cooperative culture; values teamwork over conflict-driven or “alpha” leadership styles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a small, highly collaborative team responsible for enterprise business applications and operational support models.
  • Design, plan, select, implement, enhance, and support enterprise systems governed by RFSUNY, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy.
  • Drive strategic planning beyond individual projects, translating business strategy and objectives into scalable technology capabilities.
  • Foster strong relationships with business stakeholders across multiple functional areas, bringing diverse groups together to achieve shared outcomes.
  • Serve as a key liaison between technical teams, business partners, and vendors to ensure effective communication and delivery.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, including contract review, performance monitoring, and negotiation support.
  • Ensure enterprise application initiatives support continuous improvement in core business processes and productivity.
  • Support the development of processes, skills, and operational practices to enhance service delivery and team effectiveness.
  • Provide clear, confident communication and presentations tailored to a wide range of stakeholder audiences.
