About The Position

Communities in Schools of Central Texas seeks an Associate Director of Data Strategy and Impact to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of the organization's data ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, systems, and student success and ensures data is leveraged as a core organization asset, not a back-office function. The Associate Director will oversee data infrastructure, strengthen data governance and analytics, and partner with leadership to translate information into actionable insight. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, information systems, data management, public administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in data collection, analysis, reporting, and strategy development, including: Using data to inform decision-making and drive organizational improvement.
  • Translating findings into actionable insights
  • Producing data reports and presentations of outcomes
  • Minimum of two (2) years of people management experience, including staff supervision and team development
  • Strong understanding of data administration, governance, reporting, and analytics best practices.
  • Experience developing policies and procedures related to data quality, security, privacy, and compliance.
  • Experience managing technology projects and working with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to synthesize complex technical information and communicate clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to using data to improve outcomes for students, families, and communities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in nonprofit, education, or social service organizations
  • Experience with Salesforce, including administration and architecture.
  • Experience with Salesforce NPSP and Program Management Module (PMM)
  • Experience with building and maintaining Tableau visualizations and dashboards.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization

Responsibilities

  • Set and execute the organization’s data strategy in alignment with programmatic and organizational priorities.
  • Partner with executive leadership to use data as a driver of strategic decisions.
  • Champion a culture where data is trusted, accessible, and actionable.
  • Lead the organization's annual data closeout process, ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of program and student data.
  • Manage required data submissions and reporting to state agencies and other regulatory entities.
  • Develop, analyze, and deliver outcome reports for school districts, funders, community partners, and other external stakeholders.
  • Ensure reporting aligns with contractual requirements, grant expectations, and organizational standards.
  • Conduct analysis of program outcomes and performance metrics to identify trends, measure impact, and inform continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain reporting calendars, documentation, and quality assurance processes to support timely and accurate reporting.
  • Oversee the organization’s data systems and reporting infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and guide solution development.
  • Lead system enhancements in partnership with department leaders.
  • Translate program and operational needs into effective data solutions and workflows.
  • Manage external consultants and vendors supporting data systems and technology initiatives.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, accessibility, and compliance across platforms.
  • Serve as the point-of-contact and decision-maker with our Salesforce technical consultant.
  • Lead cross-functional data projects from concept through execution.
  • Ensure timelines, deliverables, and adoption stay on track.
  • Drive continuous improvement across systems and processes.
  • Oversee organizations' end-of-year reporting, including data closeout and reporting.
  • Lead, coach, and develop data staff.
  • Provide high-quality training that builds confidence across teams.
  • Create structures that support both accountability and growth.
  • Partner closely with researchers to translate findings into operational improvements.
  • Strengthen evaluation practices that demonstrate organizational impact.
  • Elevate dashboards and reporting that guide programmatic choices.
  • Develop meaningful metrics and insights that inform organizational performance and student outcomes.
