About The Position

The Associate Director of Academics for Touro University's Graduate Program in Speech-Language Pathology reports to the Chair/Director and will assist in all aspects of the Master's degree program, including planning, development, scheduling, communication, staffing, oversight, innovation, and special projects, as determined by the Department Chair. Touro's Speech-Language Pathology program is approved by the New York State Education Department and is an ASHA certified, 58 credit Master's degree program located in Brooklyn, NY.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communicative Sciences, Communication Disorders, or other equivalent degree(s) required.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
  • New York State Speech-Language Pathology (NYS-SLP) license.
  • At least 3 years experience post-CF.
  • Administrative experience in a comparable environment (academic, clinical, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to be organized and prioritize workload.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of social media, AI and advanced technological platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Recruiting, interviewing and recommending faculty and staff hires.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external communications, including the website, brochures, bulletins, catalogs and handbooks for program, as needed.
  • Develop semester calendars and schedule of classes.
  • Attend departmental, School of Health Sciences, and university meetings.
  • Coordinating admissions, faculty review, faculty-student advisement, credentialing incoming students and certifying requirements prior to graduation.
  • Assist in preparing departmental reports and surveys, including Annual CAA Accreditation report, ongoing data collection, development and monitoring of annual budget.
  • Explore external Grant opportunities and identify potential synergies.
  • Respond to internal University generated grant and funding opportunities.
  • Manage and oversee administrative support staff including administrative assistants and graduate assistants.
  • Teach courses as needed
