About The Position

The Taliesin Institute designs and delivers academic and lifelong learning programs at Taliesin and Taliesin West for university students, faculty, professionals, and adult learners. Its work includes academic residencies, lectures, continuing education, symposia, and other scholarly and educational initiatives that explore architecture, design, landscape, sustainability, and Wright’s pedagogical theories. Reporting to the Vice President of the Taliesin Institute, the Associate Director of Academic Programs plays a key leadership role in the planning, growth, and delivery of the Institute’s academic, professional development, and lifelong learning initiatives. This position is responsible for leading and expanding academic residency programs; developing professional development workshops; assisting with lecture series development; and co-leading the development and implementation of an academic engagement plan in collaboration with Taliesin Institute leadership. The Associate Director also supports the development of a cross-departmental lifelong learning engagement strategy, including digital and hybrid components, with an emphasis on sustainable, revenue-generating programs that advance the Foundation’s mission. The role oversees on-site academic program delivery at Taliesin and Taliesin West. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Architecture, Architectural History, Art History, or related field
  • Experience developing and executing academic content
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends
  • Ability to travel on an as needed basis to Taliesin for program execution

  • College-level teaching experience
  • Museum or archival experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, management, and growth of university programs with an emphasis on enrollment growth and sustainability
  • Develop and deliver professional development workshops and continuing education offerings
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Institute’s public lecture series
  • Collaborate with the Vice President to develop and implement an academic engagement plan aligned with strategic priorities
  • Contribute to a cross-departmental lifelong learning engagement strategy, including digital and hybrid initiatives
  • Develop and coordinate academic content for programs and courses at both sites and digitally
  • Support research initiatives as related to the Institute’s priorities
  • Build relationships with external faculty, scholars, and partners
  • Support workflow development, evaluation, and program assessment
  • Oversee on-site program logistics in collaboration with support staff
  • Supervise supplemental program staff
  • Collaborate across departments and represent the Institute professionally
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
