About The Position

The Associate Director, Human Resources will provide HR Business Partner leadership to teams within the UM brand agency. This individual will provide hands-on HRBP support to UM teams, and, oversee professional employees and supervisors to effectively tackle operational and resource challenges. This individual adapts broader enterprise wide people plan and roadmap to align with business needs, ensuring they support broader functional goals. Decision-making is guided by company policies and procedures, enabling efficient operations that contribute to the organization's objectives. He/She/They Partner with senior leaders within assigned business units or regions to design and deliver medium‑ to long‑term People & Culture solutions aligned with business strategy and priorities. Anticipates workforce needs, organizational trends, and people implications, advising leadership on effective approaches across areas such as workforce planning, talent, performance, and employee experience. This individual will partner with the HR Lead to design, implement, and monitor a range of People & Culture programs and initiatives, working as a strategic generalist while drawing on support from centralized People & Culture operations and specialist teams (e.g. reward, talent, employee relations). Acts as a trusted advisor to the business, ensuring people practices are consistent, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5-8 years in Human Resource with proficiency in HR administration, recruitment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training and development, coaching
  • Must provide excellent customer service - be super responsive to the team and the client
  • Business acumen - understand the business needs, learn the business, and understand the strategy and financial position of the company
  • Must be able to take initiative, work independently, and lead to get things done - Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate high levels of interpersonal sensitivity, emotional intelligence, and judgment
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to problem solve, be resourceful, and think analytically
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Exhibit proficiency with computer programs such as MS Office, Word, and Excel and to work with HRIS systems and technology in general

Nice To Haves

  • Industry backgrounds in advertising, digital companies, media planning and buying, communications, technology, and entertainment/media a plus

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day employee relations issues involving a wide spectrum of issues that require functional and technical expertise, policy knowledge, and judgment
  • Support the implementation and roll out off the full cycle of performance management for the assigned client groups including goal setting, development planning, appraisal, etc.
  • Implementing a wide variety of mobility initiatives - relocation, rotation, transfer, and promotions that involve creating a highly mobile and constantly learning workforce
  • Conducting research to identify candidates for positions in the organization, screening candidates, and managing the hiring process
  • Being part of the team that successfully on boards and integrates new hires into the organization
  • Support employee lifecycle from new hire through termination; this includes providing recruitment assistance, orientation, interpreting company policies, and conducting exit interviews
  • Provide employee relations support for all personnel issues (e.g., performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and ensuring federal and state compliance)
  • Act as a partner to management in driving Omnicom Media’s strategic initiatives in the areas of training, retention, and compensation solutions; assist in identifying training and development needs
  • Supervise payroll matters and serve as the liaison with the payroll department
  • Assist the Human Resources Lead in creating and implementing diversity initiatives
  • Work closely with the entire OMC HR department to develop and uplift plans for an overall benefit to OMC employees
  • Partner with the Human Resources Lead to manage all immigration matters in conjunction with outside counsel
