About The Position

AMC is seeking an experienced Associate Director, Grants Management to lead consulting teams that provide grant management, grant writing, fundraising, and nonprofit consulting services. This leadership role combines strategic client management, team development, operational oversight, and business growth. The ideal candidate has at least five years of leadership experience in grants management, fundraising, or nonprofit operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Five (5) or more years of progressive leadership experience in grants management, fundraising, nonprofit administration, or a related field.
  • Experience managing client relationships and complex grant portfolios.
  • Experience supervising and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong project management, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with federal, state, and private foundation grants.
  • Background in nonprofit finance, compliance, or business administration.
  • Experience leading consulting engagements or client service teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead consultant for a portfolio of nonprofit clients
  • Oversee grant management engagements from planning through successful completion
  • Ensure client deliverables are completed on schedule, within scope, and within budget.
  • Provide expert guidance on grant compliance, financial stewardship, and post-award management.
  • Maintain exceptional quality standards across all client work.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of grant consultants managing their own client portfolios.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
  • Support team members in achieving KPIs and client success metrics.
  • Manage workload allocation and resource planning across multiple projects.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Develop and improve internal processes
  • Prepare reports for senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with AMC policies and quality standards.
  • Develop strong relationships with nonprofit leaders and funding partners.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services with existing clients
  • Participate in business development, proposals, presentations, and networking
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop new consulting services.
  • Represent AMC within the nonprofit and grants management community.
  • Monitor industry trends, grant regulations, and funding opportunities and serve as a trusted advisor on emerging best practices.
