About The Position

The Associate Director, Government Reporting provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for accurate, timely, and compliant U.S. Government Pricing calculations, analyses, reviews, and submissions across approximately 200 NDCs in AstraZeneca and Alexion’s Biopharmaceuticals, Oncology, and Rare Disease portfolios. The role ensures contracts, rebates, chargebacks, fees, product lifecycle events, and price concessions are accurately reflected in government programs, supporting compliance, commercial decision-making, and patient access. The role serves as a trusted advisor to senior partners, providing education, financial modeling, and business analysis to guide pricing and contracting strategy. It anticipates legislative changes and translates them into operational plans, while maintaining audit readiness and high standards. The position collaborates with Market Access Operations, Government Reporting, Contract Strategy, and other partners, and supports government pricing processes, training, governance, and system enhancements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree; preferably in a relevant field such as Marketing, Science, Economics, or Finance.
At least 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical or related healthcare business.
At least 5 years of pricing and government reporting experience.
Financial acumen.
Understanding of Market Access and healthcare delivery.
Analytical skills, including problem solving, forecasting, contract development, and financial modeling.
Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, lead teams, and develop or foster relationships with senior leadership.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

Multi-industry marketing practice.
Detailed understanding of the AstraZeneca business model, particularly brand team operations, brand planning, contract operations, trade operations, financial reporting, and the sales model.
Experience with government agencies and legal matters.

Responsibilities

Serve as a contact liaison between Market Access Operations, Government Reporting, and key partners.
Maintain detailed knowledge of Market Access, including pricing, contracting, strategies, customer designations, and system and data enhancement initiatives.
Influence decisions within AstraZeneca regarding the impact of commercial pricing and contracting strategies on Federal Supply Schedule Contracts, Medicaid, Medicare, and 340B programs.
Maintain working knowledge of Managed Care contracting activities and their potential impact on AMP, BP, ASP, 340B, and unit rebate amounts used in state claims under CMS and Federal legislation.
Lead or support legislative drug-pricing changes, including the Inflation Reduction Act, and other initiatives to prepare the Government Reporting team for new regulations, models, and methodologies.
Partner with Associate Directors and Contract Directors in Contract Strategy and Market Access Operations to understand contracting activity and translate its potential impact to Government Pricing calculations.
Develop and deliver Government Pricing training, including technical training for government pricing staff and managerial programs on pricing issues across AstraZeneca.
Maintain controls, documentation, and governance over Government Pricing processes to support audit and regulatory requirements.
Prepare, review, or oversee Government Pricing calculations and analyses, including AMP, ASP, BP, PHS, and NFAMP; evaluate trends, metrics, and risks; and communicate insights to collaborators.
Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant government agency submissions and provide leadership updates on reporting status, findings, risks, and required actions.
Support requirements gathering, testing, validation, and implementation of system or data enhancements affecting Government Pricing calculations.
Represent AstraZeneca at relevant industry meetings concerning Government contracting and Medicaid.
