About The Position

UBS SECURITIES LLC is seeking an Associate Director, Global Banking in New York, NY. This role requires an innovative thinker who is focused on details, even under pressure, and enjoys delivering enhanced change capabilities across a range of business functions. The Associate Director will be responsible for assessing deal impact, evaluating risk, and supporting valuation and pricing decisions. They will advise clients on buy-side and sell-side transactions, including due diligence, valuation analysis, and transaction structuring. The role also involves supporting the execution of equity offerings (IPOs, follow-on offerings) and debt issuances, and utilizing financial databases for market data, financial metrics, peer benchmarking, transaction comps, and industry research. Additionally, the Associate Director will build and maintain financial models, create marketing materials and client presentations, coordinate due diligence efforts, and provide analytical support for idea origination and transaction execution. The position covers a broad portfolio of industrial segments and requires ongoing client interaction.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field of study.
  • Experience with financial databases including FactSet, Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Refinitiv Eikon, PitchBook, and Mergermarket.
  • Experience with statistical methods including regression analysis, correlation analysis, sensitivity analysis, and scenario modeling.
  • Experience with financial modeling and analysis.
  • Experience with corporate finance theory.
  • Client facing experience, including C-suite engagement to develop strategic roadmaps, support origination and drive execution.
  • Quantitative skills including DCF.
  • Development of client discussion materials such as presentations and memos.
  • Knowledge of industrial sector and sub-sectors.
  • Experience with market research and the development of reports.
  • Experience with contract and legal engagement terms negotiation and monitoring.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as a Financial and Investment Analyst, Investment Associate, or a related occupation.

Responsibilities

  • Assess deal impact, evaluate risk, and support valuation and pricing decisions.
  • Advise clients on buy-side and sell-side transactions, including due diligence, valuation analysis, and transaction structuring.
  • Support the execution of equity offerings including IPOs, follow-on offerings, and debt issuances.
  • Utilize financial databases for retrieving market data, financial metrics, peer benchmarking, transaction comps, and industry research.
  • Build and maintain financial models, including discounted cash flow (DCF), leveraged buyout (LBO), merger models, initial public offering model, sum-of-the parts model, and comparable company and precedent transaction analyses.
  • Apply corporate finance theory and economic principles such as time value of money, cost of capital, enterprise valuation, capital structure optimization, Risk and Return, and market efficiency to perform financial analysis.
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, including DCF, LBO, precedent transaction, and comparable company analysis.
  • Create marketing materials, strategic pitch books, and client presentations for internal and external meetings.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis on relevant sectors, market trends, and competitive dynamics to support client engagements and identify opportunities.
  • Coordinate due diligence efforts, managing data rooms, working with legal and accounting advisors, and supporting the deal process from start to finish.
  • Provide key analytical support in idea origination efforts and transaction execution, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, leveraged buyouts, and execution of equity and debt capital markets transactions.
  • Create financial models and tool sets for valuation analysis.
  • Research key industry and business trends.
  • Be responsible for transaction execution and ongoing interactions with clients.
  • Cover a broad portfolio of industrial segments, including capital goods, transportation, industrial services, aerospace, and defense, and building products.
