About The Position
The Associate Director for Clinical Services is a senior leadership position within RIH Counseling Services, serving as the primary lead for clinical service delivery, quality of care, and clinical operations across the center. In addition to carrying a direct caseload, the role supervises assigned clinical staff, advances equity-centered and evidence-based practice, and contributes to strategic planning, accreditation readiness, and the integrated-care mission of Retriever Integrated Health.
Requirements
- Terminal degree in clinical mental health field (counseling, social work, or psychology) from an accredited program.
- Minimum of two (2) years of post-licensure clinical experience, at least one of which in a college or university counseling setting.
- Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision to licensed or pre-licensed mental health staff.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems (e.g., Point and Click) and clinical documentation standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical ethics, crisis intervention, and mental health regulations.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, cultural humility, and health equity.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program with completion of an APA-accredited doctoral internship.
- Minimum of five (5) years of post-licensure clinical experience, with at least two (2) years in a university counseling or integrated healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership, program development, or administrative supervision in a mental health setting.
- Experience with quality improvement, program evaluation, or data-driven clinical systems.
- Experience working with doctoral trainees, interns, or practicum students in a clinical training environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive care with historically underserved and underrepresented populations.
Responsibilities
- Carry an active caseload, providing individual therapy, crisis assessment and intervention, and short-term and single-session work.
- Serve as a senior clinical resource for complex and high-risk cases.
- Oversee day-to-day service delivery, caseload distribution, and clinical throughput.
- Manage intake and stepped-care pathways.
- Lead quality improvement efforts including peer review, documentation compliance, and accreditation readiness.
- Provide administrative supervision to a team of staff counselors and the Wellbeing Coordinator, offering performance feedback, professional development, and case consultation.
- Partner on hiring and onboarding as the team grows.
- Help shape clinical policy and strategy as a member of the leadership team.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care with RIH medical and psychiatric providers.
- Step in to lead the center in the Director's absence.
