About The Position

Reporting to the Director, Enrollment, the Associate Director, Enrollment will be responsible for ensuring that the division meets its student enrollment goals each year. You will manage enrollment processes and strategy and steward interested applicants into our admissions process who are strongly aligned with our programmatic outcomes. To be successful in this role, you will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic organization where you can leverage your relationship building and public speaking skills to draw highly qualified prospective students to the Year Up program. You will participate actively in applications, assessments, selection, and database management with a keen eye for opportunities to improve quality and efficiency of the Year Up admissions process through implementation and maintenance of systems. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess superior communication skills, skilled at relationship building, familiar with the local community, and enthusiastic about Year Up’s mission. The Associate Director of Enrollment will also have the opportunity to interact with students as a mentor, group facilitator, and advocate in building a positive educational environment.

Requirements

  • At least 4-7 years of professional experience preferred
  • Experience in the college recruitment, admissions and/or enrollment field
  • Experience working with a young, ethnically diverse population
  • Ability to assess student's social-emotional needs
  • Effective communication/public speaking skills, and the ability to connect quickly and authentically with people from a variety of different professional and cultural backgrounds
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude, with a willingness to be flexible
  • Professional and resourceful style with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Exemplary skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook and Excel required

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the building and execution of the admissions strategy and refine systems for admissions and applicant data tracking
  • Lead and manage high volume of interviews ranging from 20-25 weekly across multiple programs, models, and geographies
  • Conduct one-on-one interviews and psychosocial assessments with prospective students as part of the enrollment process
  • Drive collaboration and communication across divisional teams to ensure alignment with with student acceptance and onboarding
  • Create and manage the admissions calendar and ensure the implementation of all associated steps
  • Provide excellent customer service to every prospective student via phone and in-person
  • Work closely with the Inquiry Response to team to ensure strategic alignment and pipeline updates
  • Create and lead the onboarding event strategy and management including onboarding meetings, pre-orientation, and orientation
  • Shape strategy and develop systems for executing divisional engagement strategy
  • Manage a portfolio of accepted students from acceptance to enrollment; Responsible for onboarding of accepted students to meet enrollment targets track specialty
  • Facilitate student on-boarding and enrollment including outreach and onboarding events leading up to orientation
  • Drive cross-division collaboration with other Associate Directors to ensure alignment with engagement strategy
  • Analyze and manage data to design and produce regular reports that track, document and measure recruitment & admissions progress; make appropriate recommendations for future initiatives based on program needs
  • Enter data, manage reports and ensure data integrity within Year Up’s national database (Salesforce.com)
  • Develop proficiency in Salesforce.com report generation and usage to track recruitment statistics and inform improvements to the recruitment process
  • Track the weekly progress towards admissions & recruitment-related goals
  • Ensure proper usage of Year Up database and systems to ensure the most efficient storage of information and utilization of data
  • Serve as a conduit between the college enrollment and financial aid office and program staff
  • Manage day-to-day relationship(s) with the college partner ’s administration (enrollment management, admissions, financial aid, operations, etc.) to oversee on-campus recruitment and ensure that enrollment and financial aid information is up-to-date
  • Ensure that all of the college partner’s enrollment objectives are integrated into PTC project plans, data collection, and outcomes measurement
  • Serve as a coach/mentor for a small number of current students
  • Join and sometimes facilitate weekly group sessions with students
  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings
