About The Position

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking an Associate Director, Data Partnering HR Information and Data Management in Princeton, NJ. This role involves architecting, designing, and developing analytical and data solutions for enabling functions such as Human Resources, Procurement, Audit, Law, Information Technology, and Finance. The position requires coordination with business users and internal data stakeholders on technical decisions, conducting releases, and making technical recommendations across the data ecosystem. A key aspect of the role is to identify and leverage existing solutions to avoid duplication, and to utilize cloud services and AI models for designing, developing, and building applications. This includes researching and implementing cloud services, AI technologies (including generative AI), and open-source trends within the BMS Cloud ecosystem. The role also emphasizes implementing best practices for security, reliability, and performance, providing cost estimations, building stakeholder relationships, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Developing data solutions in compliance with legal and company guidelines, analyzing system performance, and providing technical guidance to junior developers are also core responsibilities. Telecommuting is permitted on a hybrid schedule, with domestic travel up to 10% and international travel up to 10% required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and five (5) years of post-bachelor’s, progressive, related work experience as a Database Architect or related occupation.
  • Five (5) years of experience with/in: Cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure
  • Five (5) years of experience with/in: Cloud architecture including computation, storage, networking, and security
  • Five (5) years of experience with/in: Programming languages including Python or Node.js
  • Five (5) years of experience with/in: Ingestion frameworks including Apache Spark or Apache Kafka
  • Five (5) years of experience with/in: Utilizing platforms such as AWS Glue, Step Functions, Lambda, and Amazon EMR
  • Five (5) years of experience with/in: Developing applications using Python, AWS Redshift, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, and Data Lake technologies
  • Five (5) years of experience with/in: Cloud computing and data engineering
  • Five (5) years of experience with/in: Building cloud managed artificial intelligence and machine learning services
  • Five (5) years of experience with/in: Python and SQL
  • Two (2) years of experience with/in: AI/ML

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and develop analytical and data solutions across enabling functions stakeholders including Human Resources, Procurement, Audit, Law, Information Technology, and Finance.
  • Coordinate with business users and internal data stakeholders for technical decisions.
  • Conduct releases and make technical recommendations throughout the data ecosystem.
  • Identify and leverage existing solutions and platforms to avoid duplication.
  • Leverage cloud services and artificial intelligence (AI) models to design, develop, and build applications.
  • Identify and research cloud services based on use-cases.
  • Research and build AI technologies, including cloud managed services, generative AI services, and open-source trends.
  • Implement services in the BMS Cloud ecosystem.
  • Implement best practices, monitoring tools, and automated testing for security, reliability, and performance of IT infrastructure.
  • Provide cost estimations to scale prototypes.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvements in collaboration with data, platform, and cloud teams.
  • Develop data solutions in compliance with legal and company guidelines.
  • Analyze system performance and recommend improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
