About The Position

The Associate Director, Clinic Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing clinic operations, provider performance, and quality patient care within a virtual, value-based care environment. As the Associate Director, you will lead advanced practice providers, improve operational and clinical outcomes, foster an engaged care team, and ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, high-quality care. As a rapidly growing organization, we are looking for a leader who is comfortable operating in ambiguity, building new capabilities, and creating scalable processes in a dynamic environment. This role requires the associate to be a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with an active, unrestricted license and the ability to maintain clinical practice, approximately 10% of the time, to support direct patient care, clinical credibility, and compliance with practice expectations. This is a remote position reporting to the Regional Medical Director.

Requirements

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Minimum 2–5 years of clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (NP, PA)
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience leading physicians or APPs
  • Maintain two or more active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license and be willing to obtain and maintain additional state licenses as needed in one or more of the following states: FL, TX, MS, LA, VA, NC, SC, GA, AZ.
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a virtual care setting
  • Experience building, scaling, or leading clinical operations in a startup or high-growth, or rapidly evolving healthcare environment
  • Self-provided internet service must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of virtual care providers while promoting accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
  • Advocate for providers and ensure alignment with organizational priorities
  • Foster provider development, performance, and retention through coaching and leadership

  • Manage clinic operations, including schedule optimization, access management, provider coverage, resource allocation, productivity, and panel performance.
  • Ensure efficient virtual care workflows that support patient access, continuity of care, and quality outcomes.
  • Manage performance metrics, including utilization, access, patient experience, panel management, and value-based outcomes.
  • Identify operational gaps and implement scalable process improvements
  • Lead provider performance management through coaching, development planning, and data-driven performance improvement
  • Foster accountability and professional growth within a supportive team environment
  • Recognize and promote stellar performance to build a culture of success
  • Promote high-quality, safe, evidence-based care across the virtual clinic

  • Help improve care model efficiency, provider experience, and clinical performance
  • Collaborate on quality improvement projects and provide direct patient care when needed
  • Support provider and care team recruitment, hiring, and onboarding
  • Evaluate performance, provide coaching, and support professional development
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, workflows, and clinical standards
  • Provide direct patient care through virtual visits, delivering safe, high-quality, evidence-based care while maintaining clinical competency and compliance with organizational standards. The role is expected to include clinical practice approximately 10% of the time.
  • Serve as a clinical leader, supporting providers, promoting best practices, and fostering excellence in patient-centered, value-based care.
  • Leverage clinical experience to drive quality improvement, optimize care delivery and workflows, and improve patient outcomes.
