About The Position

The Associate Director, Asset Strategy & Operations is responsible for leading and managing the strategic and operational activities of existing and pipeline assets in the Specialty and Rare medicine (SRMG) unit within the Global Therapeutic Operations function at Biogen. This role will be the primary point of contact for the SVP responsible for developing the strategic priorities and implementing processes and policies critical to the success of the newly designed organizational structure. The role will also be responsible for close collaboration between the SRMG and the R&D, Business Development, Value & Access and Finance organizations. Key responsibilities include: Asset Strategy Develop and execute the SRMG strategies with SVP in order to attain the goals set by EVP, President International & Global Head GTO Define strategies and vision for any new therapeutic area focus such as rare disease strategy, pipeline strategy and Neurodegeneration strategy into Specialty medicines organization Partner, communicate and maintain trusted relationships with R&D, V&A, BD, Finance to assess commercial opportunity of new assets, prioritize assets and ensure seamless transition to SRMG business unit Commercial liaison for any pre-clinical/Phase I assets not yet part of SRMG to ensure strategic alignment Alliance Management of partner assets such as Rituximab and others Asset Operations Provide strategic advice to the SVP, SRMG so that they will have accurate view of the market and together ensuring the business unit is being steered in the most profitable direction Oversee the SRMG financial performance and investments via rigorous P&L management across current and pipeline assets to support SVP decisions Read submitted performance reports across assets and assess performance, prevent issues and resolve problems Support SVP in implementation of the new SRMG organization and vision, mission and long term goals Develop and support a strong communication strategy to support the goals and strategy vision of the SVP, SRMG Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated all the way from the top down in the company and that they are followed at all times Other Day to day operations of SRMG LT Ensure all functions and processes supporting SRMG are well communicated and supporting the assets appropriately Attend industry conferences to represent SRMG and ensure on top of industry trends This role is expected to have significant impact and influence within the business unit as well as closely linked functions such as R&D, Business Development, Value & Access, Finance and others. They will interact regularly with senior leaders and need to be able to manage and implement efforts to improve the processes and operating model within the unit.

Requirements

  • 5+years of commercial, strategy and marketing experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Global marketing experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to identify priorities, align strategic and tactical plans and motivate cross-functional
