Maven is building the leading platform in women's and family health. As we scale, the complexity of the business increases: multiple growth channels, cross-functional priorities, evolving products, and new opportunities driven by AI. We are looking for a Director of Strategy & Operations to help lead Maven through this next chapter. This role sits in the Office of the CEO, with visibility and impact across every major function. While the role will evolve with Maven's business needs over time, the first 12 months will be focused on AI Transformation & Organizational Intelligence, in close partnership with Product and Engineering. We are moving internally from treating AI as a productivity tool layered onto existing structure, to treating it as the intelligence layer that replaces the need for much of that structure in the first place. This is a business role — not an engineering role — for someone who thinks deeply about how organizations work, why they break, and how AI is rewriting the rules. This role is ideal for someone earlier in their career who is already living in the AI-native world, is energized by the organizational transformation question, and is ready to operate above their title.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, product operations, or a high-growth technology environment
  • Genuine obsession with AI and how it is changing work — you use it constantly, you follow the discourse, and you have strong opinions about what is working and what is not
  • Strong business judgment — you think about systems, incentives, and organizational behavior, not just tools and workflows
  • Proven ability to lead complex initiatives across teams you do not directly manage
  • Highly analytical and comfortable with data, models, metrics, and dashboards
  • Exceptional written communication — you produce clear, well-structured documents and memos that make complex ideas legible to a senior audience
  • Builder mentality — energized by creating things from scratch, not optimizing what already exists
  • Low ego, high standards, and strong personal accountability
  • Active work authorization in the US

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in knowledge management, internal operations, or AI tooling is a plus
  • Experience in healthcare, benefits, or complex B2B businesses is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead AI Transformation & Organizational Intelligence
  • Serve as Maven's "context engineer" — build and maintain the internal knowledge management infrastructure that makes AI agents effective: documentation, decision logs, and the organizational context that allows AI to be genuinely useful rather than generic
  • Spearhead how Maven uses AI across every team — not by mandate, but by making the AI-native path the path of least resistance
  • Work with Product and Engineering leadership to design systems and workflows that make Maven's data continuously legible, actionable, and connected to real-time decision-making across the company
  • Identify the highest-leverage opportunities for AI to improve speed, quality, and efficiency — across clinical operations, sales, product, and member experience — and work with functional leads to implement and scale them
  • Help Maven's leadership team think rigorously about culture and organizational design in the age of AI: where coordination layers can be replaced by intelligence, and what the right structure looks like as a result
  • Help Shape Company Priorities
  • Partner with executives to define and drive Maven's most important strategic initiatives
  • Translate company goals into clear cross-functional plans, milestones, and measurable outcomes
  • Bring structure to ambiguous opportunities and recommend practical paths forward
  • Support leadership decision-making with clear analysis, strong judgment, and crisp recommendations
  • Drive Cross-Functional Execution
  • Lead high-priority initiatives that span multiple teams and require strong coordination
  • Clarify ownership, remove bottlenecks, and keep momentum high across functions
  • Build operating rhythms, reviews, and forums that help teams stay aligned and move quickly
  • Ensure the right information reaches the right leaders at the right time
  • Build for Scale
  • Partner with Finance and leaders across the company on annual planning, resource allocation, and organizational design
  • Continuously improve how Maven operates as we grow

Benefits

  • Access to the full platform and specialists, including care for mental health, reproductive health, family planning and pediatrics
  • Whole-self care through wellness partnerships
  • Hybrid work, in office meals, and work together days
  • 16 weeks 100% paid parental leave and new parent stipend (for Mavens who've been with us for 1 year+)
  • Annual professional development stipend and access to a personal career coach through Maven for Mavens
  • 401K matching for US-based employees, with immediate vesting
