About The Position

Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Associate Degree Nursing Program Adjunct Instructor for Med/Surg, OB, Pediatrics, and Mental Health. This position is located on the Walker County Campus and will be required to travel to other campuses to meet operational requirements, including the supervision of students and teaching dual enrolled students on any of our campus locations. This position is required to work in-person, no more than 29 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the Georgia Board of Nursing Code of Ethics and Nurse Practice Act.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the role of the Technical College System of Georgia.
  • Commitment to stay current and continually improve knowledge and understanding of the discipline of nursing.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Skill to make timely decisions.
  • Proficiency in MS software applications including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as Internet and database applications.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of protocol, procedures, and standards within area of clinical nursing expertise.
  • Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care programs.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Nursing (Registered nurse only holding a baccalaureate degree in nursing must be able to provide documentation of progress towards an earned graduate degree in nursing and have experience in the area of responsibility).
  • Demonstration of excellent communication, interpersonal, and technology skills are necessary.
  • Current Georgia nursing license.
  • Be in good standing from the initial date of employment as a registered professional nurse.

Nice To Haves

  • MSN degree.
  • Previous teaching experience.
  • Clinical experience in one of the following areas: Med/Surg; pediatrics; OB.
