The Associate Dean for College Operations oversees data collection and reporting for various college constituents, including the provost office and other college stakeholders. The Associate Dean coordinates with appropriate bodies to advise the Dean on all technology, facilities, budget and personnel matters in the college. The Associate Dean may teach as needed and will serve as college representative in strategic university initiatives. This position supports the human resources, finance, facilities, and technological infrastructure of the college. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Requirements

  • Terminal degree in a program within the College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, and Education.
  • Strong record of teaching, research or creative activity sufficient to be appointed at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
  • Administrative experience as program coordinator or related administrative experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Collaborative leadership style.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity.
  • Demonstrated commitment to faculty and student success.
  • Ability to leverage data systems such as Workday, Faculty Success, and SQLR Server Reporting Services to meet college and university needs.
  • Facility with application of college, university and UA System policies.
  • Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as department chair, School director or related administrative experience.
  • Experience working at an institution serving non-traditional students.
  • Experience collaborating across programs, colleges, and non-academic units to facilitate events, initiatives, and budgetary commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees data collection and reporting for various college constituents, including the provost office and other college stakeholders.
  • Coordinates with appropriate bodies to advise the Dean on all technology, facilities, budget and personnel matters in the college.
  • May teach as needed and will serve as college representative in strategic university initiatives.
  • Supports the human resources, finance, facilities, and technological infrastructure of the college.
  • Work with human resource and finance teams on budget and personnel issues.
  • Work with Facilities and IT Services to maintain and develop space and technical resources.
  • Collaborate with college units and provost office to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate college units, college scheduler, and provost office to ensure effective course and facilities scheduling.
  • Innovate and maintain college success metrics.
  • Lead College strategic planning and self-study processes.
  • Collaborate and interface with numerous campus personnel, including other academic unit heads, and personnel in units such as Human Resources, Admissions, Records, Finance and Administration, Physical Plant and Purchasing among others.
