The College of Arts and Sciences (COAS) at Howard University invites applications for the position of Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs. This role is responsible for managing Teaching Assistantships, graduate student funding, and the infrastructure for promoting and overseeing external funding to support faculty research. The Associate Dean will provide college-level leadership in managing and overseeing externally funded research for all 17 academic departments and anticipated new research centers. This position also involves liaising with the University’s Office of Research, coordinating events like the COAS Grants Academy, holding recurring meetings with faculty researchers, and engaging in data collection, analysis, reporting, and making recommendations to the Dean. It is classified as an R1 research university with high research activity, located on a residential campus in Washington, DC.
