About The Position

The Oklahoma State University (OSU), College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is seeking to fill the position of Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs (ADASA). The ADASA will provide administrative leadership, vision, and oversight of the college’s veterinary medical education program. The individual will supervise directors of the Offices of Student Academic Services, Curriculum and Educational Support, Clinical Services, Clinical Skills, and Wellness Programs. The ADASA is a member of the Veterinary Administrative Council and reports directly to the Dean of the CVM on all matters related to academic and student affairs. Applicants should have sufficient experience and accomplishments for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor in either a clinical or a tenure-track position. Salary is commensurate with experience/qualifications.

Requirements

  • Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent degree
  • Documented commitment to excellence in professional veterinary medical education
  • Support of professional education
  • A clear understanding of issues related to student wellness
  • Willingness to lead innovative educational programs
  • D.V.M. (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Five years of related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Significant educational and academic leadership experience in a college or school of veterinary medicine
  • Ph.D./Ed.D.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight and management of the pre-clinical and clinical professional curriculum
  • Curriculum outcomes assessment and visionary guidance of curricular advancements including course-level reviews, annual curriculum assessments, and holistic curriculum review processes
  • Veterinary medical student outreach, recruitment, and admissions processes
  • AVMA Council on Education Accreditation process
  • Alignment with Higher Learning Commission accreditation processes
  • Maintenance and management of students and agreements with external veterinary programs
  • Veterinary Medical Library services and Educational Technology advancements and supports
  • Tracking and reporting individualized and holistic student performance and outcomes assessments in the Professional Degree program
  • Student affairs, policies around student affairs, and student wellness support
  • Student academic advising, mentorship, and tutoring programs
  • Planning for and managing educational Awards and Scholarships
  • Orientation programs and other student-centered events, including graduation and professional coating ceremonies
