About The Position

Chamberlain University, with a 130-year history and a mission to educate, empower, and embolden diverse healthcare professionals, is seeking a collaborative, student-focused academic leader for the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs position within its BSN Online program. This role is pivotal in driving faculty excellence, student success, and curriculum quality, partnering with national and campus leadership to ensure a high-impact learning experience rooted in the culture of Chamberlain Care®. The Associate Dean will guide faculty and academic operations to ensure an exceptional student experience and strong academic outcomes.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing
  • 2+ years teaching in nursing education at the bachelor’s level or higher
  • 2+ years academic leadership experience
  • 2+ years development/participation in simulation or clinical education
  • Active, unencumbered professional nursing license
  • Current, unrestricted Illinois nursing license, or eligibility to obtain
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate in Nursing or progress toward doctorate
  • Experience in acute care, trauma, emergency, and/or medical-surgical environments
  • 3–5 years of acute patient care experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment, selection, onboarding, and ongoing performance management of faculty and staff.
  • Mentor faculty in academic excellence, professionalism, communication, collaboration, and service.
  • Ensure faculty are equipped with and accountable to teaching best practices through regular evaluation and feedback.
  • Assign faculty and academic team workloads.
  • Ensure learning experiences align with the BSN curriculum.
  • Partner with national academic teams and committees to implement curriculum goals and initiatives.
  • Support faculty in implementing curriculum updates and program improvements.
  • Ensure consistent execution of core CAS programs and assist in developing local programming when needed.
  • Facilitate faculty participation in national course advisory councils and curriculum decision-making.
  • Develop and execute student success plans focused on retention, graduation rates, and NCLEX outcomes.
  • Monitor and analyze student performance data to inform improvements and interventions.
  • Evaluate course resources and assessment data each session and recommend enhancements.
  • Champion student satisfaction and collaborate across teams to achieve superior outcomes.
  • Collaborate with campus leadership and national partners on academic planning and capital needs.
  • Support clinical coordination teams to ensure clinical placements meet program objectives.
  • Partner with national library staff to manage local resources.
  • Lead regular faculty and academic team meetings to drive communication and engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Act as liaison with local, state, and national regulatory bodies.
  • Serve as designated Campus Security Authority.
  • May serve as or support duties of program director if needed.
  • Participate in academic budgeting and planning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all organizational policies and standards.
