About The Position

The Associate, Data Governance Analyst is responsible for investigating, analyzing, and resolving data quality issues across the bank and its sponsorship partners. This role focuses on identifying root causes, coordinating corrective actions, and ensuring sustainable remediation aligned with regulatory expectations and internal data governance standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, Business, or related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in data quality, data governance, risk, or analytics within financial services
  • Strong root cause analysis experience in regulated environments
  • Knowledge of banking data domains and sponsorship banking concepts
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Monday.com, or similar)

Responsibilities

  • Investigate data quality issues identified through controls, monitoring, audits, regulatory exams, or partner reviews
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) to identify systemic, process, technology, or third-party contributors
  • Document findings including issue impact, root cause, and remediation recommendations
  • Partner with data owners/stewards, technology, compliance, and fintech partners to develop corrective action plans
  • Help to track remediation efforts and validate fixes
  • Support issue escalation
  • Align issue management with regulatory expectations (OCC, Federal Reserve, FFIEC)
  • Provide documentation for audits, exams, and internal reviews
  • Analyze trends to identify recurring data quality weaknesses
  • Recommend control enhancements and preventive measures
  • Support data quality metrics and KPIs
