About The Position

Philips is seeking a Data & AI Engineer to curate, annotate, and use medical imaging datasets to support algorithm and model development for imaging capabilities across clinical modalities, bringing imaging solutions from concept to deployment. The role focuses on X-ray coronary angiography and includes using simulated, clinical, and phantom data to train and validate segmentation, classification, and reconstruction models. The engineer will collaborate with clinical, engineering, data science, product management, and quality-assurance teams; design, implement, and test image-processing algorithms; support deployment and integration; troubleshoot performance issues; and document code, designs, and validation methods. The role also contributes to regulatory documentation and quality-assurance workflows, while encouraging continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and learning GPU/CUDA optimization techniques. This is an office-based role in Bedford, Massachusetts. Philips states that office-based teams work in person at least three days per week. Candidates must reside in or within commuting distance of Bedford, MA, and must have US work authorization; visa sponsorship is not available. Relocation benefits are not provided.

  • Experience developing algorithms using Python.
  • High familiarity with deep-learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Experience building GUI-based data annotation and review tools using Tk or Napari.
  • Strong knowledge of signal- or image-processing concepts and numerical methods.
  • Experience quantitatively validating algorithm performance using imaging datasets.
  • Problem-solving, critical-thinking, and debugging abilities.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, particularly when documenting code and technical decisions.
  • Must be able to successfully perform the position’s minimum physical, cognitive, and environmental requirements, with or without accommodation.
