The Associate Creative Director, Copy is a life sciences creative copy professional who drives customer success and business results globally. They bring deep experience in oncology and have worked across multiple brands and therapeutic areas, delving into data to create meaningful messages and approvable claims. They are comfortable with MLR reviews and interacting with both internal teams and diverse client audiences. This role involves writing for healthcare audiences (HCPs and patients/caregivers), understanding how to develop content in a highly regulated industry, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including art/visual design, client services, performance marketers, and data/analytics. Experience with emerging media and tech, writing/evaluating copy based on clinical product information, finding compelling narratives in clinical data, and interacting confidently with brand marketers, healthcare systems, providers, and patient audiences is essential. Familiarity with brand, science, and strategic issues for each project, along with experience in multiple therapeutic areas, is key. The role also requires aligning content with client strategic objectives, supervisory experience, and client-facing confidence. A passion for making a difference in patients' lives and thriving in a fluid, fast-paced, energetic environment is desired.

Requirements

  • At least 12 years of conceptual healthcare/copy writing experience, preferably in a health care marketing or communications agency
  • At least 5 years of experience working in the Oncology area on multiple agents
  • At least 5 years of brand launch experience for both HCP and patient audiences
  • At least 10 years of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • At least 10 years of proven organizational and timeline prioritization skills; scheduling flexibility to accommodate work volumes and the ability to manage multiple assignments
  • At least 5 years of experience in strategic brainstorming, campaign development and creative execution writing email copy, advertising (digital, print, banners), brand messaging, web copy, video scripts, marketing collateral

Responsibilities

  • Participate in strategic and tactical meetings to develop effective campaigns and activations reflecting the clients’ objectives
  • Delve into the data and develop a strong working knowledge of claims and messages
  • Contribute innovative ideas and tactics appropriate to client marketing strategy
  • Brainstorm campaign ideas with colleagues
  • Contribute to thought decks for campaign presentations
  • Plan, develop and write materials as assigned, working closely with medical colleagues on specific initiatives to ensure alignment with strategic objectives
  • Partner with art direction/visual designers as well as other creative team members to develop engaging materials that maintain a high level of scientific accuracy, compelling campaign creative, and achieve our client’s strategic imperatives
  • Supervise a small team of copywriters
  • Interact and collaborate closely with clients daily
  • Partner with internal team and provide onsite support at key client meetings or events
  • Attend and participate in MLR reviews as needed
  • Secure references as needed through the appropriate channels to provide full support of all claims within a deliverable and provides clean delivery of reference packets for internal and client teams
  • Collaborate with medical editors to resolve grammatical, content or stylistic errors or concerns
  • Work to tight deadlines and can juggle multiple projects
  • Take a proactive solutions-oriented approach into all tasks
  • Maintain high standards and ensure only the best work is released to the client
