About The Position

An associate position with a top-rated intellectual property boutique firm that is very busy at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and the International Trade Commission (ITC). The role involves patent litigation and contested matters, including work in district courts and/or before the ITC. The position is listed in New York; candidates must be admitted to or eligible for admission in Washington, DC.

Requirements

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admitted to or eligible for admission in Washington, DC.
• Prior patent litigation experience in district courts and/or before the ITC.
• Previous experience handling patent infringement and validity analyses.
• Previous experience drafting and preparing motions and briefs concerning patent issues.
• Previous experience handling or managing discovery aspects of litigation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to stay organized and exercise extreme attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings.

Nice To Haves

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study is preferred but not required.
• Some previous experience or involvement preparing for, defending, or taking depositions and working with expert and fact witnesses is preferable.
