About The Position

This role will lead and serve in corporate worship and equipping the saints. The position will lead corporate worship, spearhead and support the development of worship leaders, paid staff, and volunteer musicians. This role requires an eye for talent, a passion for worship, the ability to build relationships, and a drive to build and nurture networks of volunteers. This position will serve as a key strategic Developer for the Contemporary Music Department and as a Supporter, aiding other worship leaders in training and overseeing the development process in contemporary worship to align with Christ Chapel's standards. The role also involves administrative functions for the contemporary worship department and serving as a Project Manager for church initiatives related to worship. Specific duties include direct support and leadership to the Contemporary Worship team, managing administrative duties, budgets, vision execution, hiring, department meetings, song database, projects, Worship Team meetings, coaching, discipling, disciplinary action, residents, trainings, auditions, on-boarding, and coaching. A major emphasis will be placed on creative aspects of song writing and song arrangements. The individual will attend weekly Sunday service planning meetings, serve as worship leader, music director, and support roles across all campuses on Sundays. They will also observe worship experiences at other campuses and provide coaching and feedback to worship staff. The role reports directly to the Executive Director of Worship Arts.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior ministry experience.
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree are desirable.
  • Ample musical abilities and leadership competencies to lead worship, build teams, teach skills, and shepherd people.

Responsibilities

  • Direct support and leadership to the Contemporary Worship team.
  • Helps manage administrative duties, manage budgets, execution of vision, hiring, department meetings, song database, projects, Worship Team meetings, coaching, discipling, disciplinary action, residents, trainings, auditions, on-boarding, and coaching.
  • Emphasis on creative aspects of song writing and song arrangements.
  • Attend weekly Sunday service planning meetings.
  • Sunday roles include being the worship leader, music directing, and serving in support roles across all campuses.
  • Float and observe worship experiences at other campuses and provide coaching and feedback to worship staff.
  • Support all Contemporary Worship Leaders in administration and processes involved with worship team development (paid musicians and volunteers).
  • Lead and/or support worship services.
  • Lead special event services as needed.
  • Oversee recruiting, auditioning, and development of musicians and vocalists for Contemporary Worship teams.
  • Supervise Music Directors and Worship Leaders.
  • Oversee shepherding of leaders, musicians, and volunteer worship team members.
  • Oversee team nights and development nights.
  • Help oversee the contemporary worship department meetings.
  • Plan services, when applicable, alongside the campus pastor and worship service coordinator.
  • Initiate and participate in the audition/selection processes for musicians and vocalists.
  • Participate and contribute to church-wide worship initiatives.
